Finally finished Esperanza Rising after 20 years. Didn't connect initially, but after enjoying Echo and Solimar, gave it another shot and loved it. I'm not sure what 20 year old mocoso me was thinking! Definitely falls under the bibliotherapy category. Thank you, Pam Munoz Ryan!

We are excited to have recently published author Orlyola Tantchou, a sophomore at Loretto Academy, visit Desertaire_YISD 1st and 2nd graders for Earth Day this Monday!

Had a couple of 5th grade classes stop by today before the big science test tomorrow! We read a bit on some weird bird adaptations and we watched a few videos of a couple of the birds in action! Good luck tomorrow 5th graders!
