Reflecting on my days at Tougaloo1869 following the Two Rivers Gala on Friday, where I was honored with the Light of Justice award.
Tougaloo taught me to challenge injustices at every turn and to strive for a more equitable society. It was a full-circle moment.
If a student can be expelled for racist taunts, a congressman (Rep. Mike Collins) can be held accountable for celebrating their behavior.

A Black Woman was victim to pandering, racist remarks and gestures, and hateful speech with the hope of breeding fear, isolation, and retreat.
She marched forward anyway.
I hope racists like Mike Collins took note of that as well.
