2T1 have been learning about working conditions for children during the Victorian period in History. Here are some examples of the outstanding work they have produced! 👏

A Victorian Poem by Naomi In the factories of old, a Victorian child toils, their tiny hands and weary eyes, wrapped in heavycoils From dusk til dawn their youth slips away, in the harsh world of work industry they are forced to stay.

No time to play, no time for dreams, their days filled with labour so it seems. Machines withthick air & black smoke  their innocence lost, their spirit broke. Their heart aches for a different fate, to escape from the working state.

Thanks to former pupils Holly and Aidan for visiting the Humanities faculty today to discuss their experience as Holocaust ambassadors last year. 👍👊👏

Well done to all our S1 Holocaust ambassadors who met with the Provost today to discuss what they have been learning in Humanities. The pupils showcased some of their reflections around the theme of the 'Fragility of Freedom' to commemorate Holocaust Memorial day.

Continued Chimneys high, spilling smoke Worked all day, their families broke Dreams crushed in industrial rhyme Victorian childhood, stolen time.
