Today would have been the 95th birthday of Alvis Edgar "Buck" Owens Jr.! In this '70 photo from our Fitzsimons Army Hospital files we see Owens with Ed Sullivan, who had performed at both Fitzsimons and San Antonio’s Brooks Army Hospital, seen here, for an Easter TV special.

One of our staff archivists is very happy today is the first day of school for Denver Public Schools! This photo was sent to the Jicarilla Indian Agency in a 1931 bus bid from Denver's Timpte Brothers Company and is today found in our holdings. Here's to another great school year!

What kind of dam pattern is this?! For an out of the box approach to the #ArchivesHashtagParty #ArchivesPatterns, from our Bureau of Reclamation holdings here we see some of the interlocking five foot high blocks being poured that together form the massive Hoover Dam!
