MK = Umkhonto we Sizwe, the armed resistance organisation founded by Mandela and other ANC leaders in 1961. Everyone knew it as the ANC's armed wing. It brought us heroes like Chris Hani. It would be a travesty if any party opposed to the ANC were allowed to use this name.

Serious allegations are being made against the Speaker of Parliament. They've started a media frenzy. Calls are being made for her to resign. Yet she has not been found guilty by a court. Detention without trial was horrible as is being convicted by media and political parties.

Marcus Jooste is dead. And I guess we could leave it at that but I still find it intriguing that Democratic Alliance has remained silent on this whole sorry saga. Everyone knows the vehicle Mmusi was driving during and after the elections in 2019 was sponsored by Marcus Jooste.

Can't help but feel a twinge of sadness when I hear or read SA sportswriters referring to a walk in the park. On Human Rights Day, I wonder how small is the number of South Africans who can or have walked in an equipped and safe park.
