Trans fats were a confounder in pretty much all the old seed oil studies (LA Veterans Trial, Minnesota Coronary Experiment, Sydney Diet-Heart Study, etc.), and I think downplaying that fact is a mistake, but also really understandable because trans fats are super misunderstood

I feel very alone in the anecdote sea with my N=1: I’ve never noticed anything one way or another from seed oils (avoided completely for eight years; still do not cook with them but definitely get exposure when eating out, condiments, etc.). But even a tiny amount of butter,
