Had an amazing past couple of days visiting St. Cecilia’s College, @ForgeIPS , Lagan College, as well as Cross & Passion College and Ballycastle High School. Seeing first hand how integrated & shared education works in Northern Ireland has been wonderful! ❤️#ecedforpeace

Our last day in Northern Ireland was amazing. The group had the opportunity to spend the day in Dublin, Ireland and I was lucky enough to have Rachel Finley-Bowman follow me back! ❤️ #ecedforpeace

This is an awesome resource for teachers who want to use technology to help guide their assessments! #ED317 nwea.org/blog/2019/75-d…

A1 - I would rate #blended 3/5 stars. I loved that fact that it hits such hard topics, such as divorce, racial issues, etc. however, I think that it should focus more on these topic because it left me with a lot of unanswered questions. #ECmiddlegradesbookclub

A3 - I think like Jenna stated that #blended is a book for any developing reader. I like how children who are experiences the same experiences as Izzy can relate to her but also readers can learn a lesson from this book such as racial issues or divorce #ECmiddlegradesbookclub

A1: I would use the word powerful to describe On the Come Up. I love that this book is fiction but it hits real life topics. I would highly recommend this book for older grades. It’s relevant to the lives of our students! #ECmiddlegradesbookclub

A3: The message that stuck to me after reading was that as a teacher, we need to keep in mind the lives of our students outside of school. Sometimes they have more to worry about like whether they will eat that night or if they will have a home to go to. #ECmiddlegradesbookclub

A6: I will definetly keep this book on my personal bookshelf and recommend it to as many people as will listen to me! However, considering I plan to teach K-1st, I’m not sure I can incorporate this due to the language. #ECmiddlegradesbookclub

A7: I hope that Angie Thomas releases a sequel to On the Come Up because I’m dying to know what rapper tweeted about her! I want to continue reading more about Bri’s life and watch her dreams unfold :) #ECmiddlegradesbookclub

Teaching without relationships is sort of like cookies without the chocolate chips. It’s possible -- it’s just not nearly as good.

A little late posting this, but the Kutztown University Children’s Literature Conference was a blast. I enjoyed hearing from all 4 of the talented authors/illustrators. Thank you Katie Caprino for the opportunity to attend 🙂 #ED212 #ChildrensLit #PictureBooks #Reading x.com/kcapliteracy/s…
