A rare appearance by two wolverines quickly became the talk of the park this week. These critters spent part of their day peeking at visitors from a culvert along Denali Park Road! #Wildlife #KeepWildlifeWild #Denali #NPS

What a summer it's been! We've had the privilege of watching an incredible transformation in the park over the past few months. What's it like watching the seasons change where you live? #FallColors #FallFoliage #Denali #Alaska

Some hibernate, some migrate, and some…..tolerate! The hoary marmot (Marmota caligata) tolerates winter by entering a lethargic torpid state for 8 months. No one knows how to chill like a marmot! * Wood frog enters the chat * NPSPhoto/ Damian Popovic

There is a display providing paper and pencils in the Denali Visitor Center titled “What does Denali mean to you?” Here are some of the responses we received this summer. Do any of them resonate with you? Would you write something different? What does Denali mean to you?

This cute nose belongs to Apollo, one of the pups from summer 2021. Apollo is starting his first winter as a full-fledged member of Denali’s dog team. It’s time for him to run with the big dogs! What advice do you have for Apollo as he starts his career as a Denali canine ranger?

This time of year, direct sunlight doesn’t reach the ground at the Winter Visitor Center in Denali. The sun’s low-angled rays are blocked by the surrounding mountains. This means that on clear days, beautiful alpenglow lights up the mountainsides for the brief daylight hours.

It’s the #GreatNPSBakeOff! Here we have biscuits with Denali wild blueberry and cranberry jams, waffles with spruce tip syrup, and an apple-bluebarb pie with wild blueberries and locally grown rhubarb. Have you ever baked with any wild ingredients you’ve collected yourself?

A quiet winter scene on the Horseshoe Lake trail. This trail has transformed into a winter wonderland of frosty spruce and feathery ice crystals on frozen streambanks. For those prepared for the conditions, exploring Denali's trails in the winter can be a magical experience.
