#CanadaFundArmenia Canada in Armenia "Democracy Today" NGO held training on violence against women in the frames of 16th Days of Activism for the women of Gegharkunik region. This project is supported by the Canadian Foundation for Local Initiatives (CFLI).

DT in cooperation with the RA MFA organized a meeting on the development of the NAP of UNSCR1325. Representatives of state bodies and NGOs participated in the meeting. The project is produced with the financial support of the UK Government, through a sub-grant from the IWPR.

A two-day training course was held within the framework of the project implemented by the DT NGO and the Danner. The training was dedicated to increasing women's and youth's knowledge of human security and improving their skills in navigating and acting in emergency situations.

#NDF Within the framework of the project implemented by the DT and the Danner, four community events were held in Ijevan, Metsamor, and Armavir. The events were dedicated to raising community awareness of human rights and women’s rights and were held in an forum-theater format.

By the initiative of the "Democracy Today" NGO, the Head of the Martuni community, Mr. Hovhannes Hoveyan, met with Ms. Cristina Conesa Sancho, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain as well as the representatives of "Tumo" and "Armenia Tree Project".

"Democracy Today" NGO, in partnership with the "Danner" Fund, continues the "“Addressing violence against women in the border areas of post-conflict Armenia” project. Within the framework of project, the a three-day training on violence against women in Yerevan was held.

The presentation of the Third NAP on the implementation of the UNSCR 1325 took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA. DT NGO closely collaborated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop the overall concept, gather data, design the strategic framework.

#DT #Danner #CISU Within the framework of the project implemented by the DT and the Danner, women's committees have been formed in Tavush, Gegharkunik and Lori provinces. A meeting was held, during which women discussed the activities and upcoming programs of the committees.

With the initiative of the “Democracy Today” NGO, H.E. Mr. Vassilis Maragos, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia met with youth from Lori, the border communities of Tavush, Syunik, as well as with the forcibly displaced from Artsakh.

Lawyer, Candidate of Political Sciences Lilit Dallakyan also had a discussion with the youth. During the meeting issues related to the RA’s foreign relations and regional security were discussed.

DT NGO invited representatives of departments, commission members, local and international organizations to a concluding discussion on strengthening partnerships for the effective implementation of Armenia’s Third NAP on WPS.

“Democracy Today” NGO conducted a training course for the hotline workers of the RA Ministry of Defense. The course was conducted by the psychologist Inna Hayrapetyan.

The RA MOD Human rights and integrity building centre awarded the President of “Democracy Today” NGO, Gyulnara Shahinyan, a certificate of appreciation for her valuable contribution, dedication, and effective cooperation.
