There are real world consequences to their lack of action - our analysis shows that not setting standards results in more than 9,000 avoidable cancer-related deaths, and thousands of cases of additional health impacts.

The EMC had all the information they needed to move forward - but they continue to move the goalposts. They are more interested in protecting polluters than protecting the health of everyday North Carolinians.#PFAS

Yesterday, nearly 30 community leaders representing over 25 #NC counties came together to call on the Environmental Management Commission to approve N.C. DEQ recommendations to remove 8 PFAS from our drinking water sources. The EMC decided to stall the vote but we won’t be silenced

Thank you for your continued service to the people of NC- advocating, providing clear scientific data & bold action to tackle #PFAS. We have dozens of members and volunteers who have reported illnesses due to exposure. There is enough proof of impact, EMC must remove all 8 PFAS.

As the EMC begins its meetings today to consider the N.C. DEQ proposed standards for PFAS in surface and groundwater, I have sent the following letter to the EMC clarify mischaracterizations and misunderstandings contained in a recent NC Chamber letter on this subject.

Our organization launched the “EMC Don’t Wait, Ban the Eight” Campaign calling for the EMC to ban all 8 #PFAS chemicals, not just the politicized 3. All of NC deserves clean drinking water, not Just one city. youtu.be/OG7izmE14CI?si…

Everyone knows fish live in #water, right? Well, apparently everyone but Commissioner Michael Ellison, Vice-Chair of the NC EMC Water Quality Committee. Tell EMC “Don’t Wait, Ban the Eight!” Sign our petition here: change.org/BanTheEight youtu.be/OG7izmE14CI?si…
