2 confirmed cases of #lassa fever has been reported. One is dead and the Youth Corper was transferred to IRRUA and is responding to treatment. Samples of 3 other suspected cases has been sent to the lab and we are awaiting results from Irrua.

Contact tracing and sensitization have commenced in earnest.The Hon. Commissioner for Health did a press briefing today to sensitize the public as all efforts is being put on deck to combat the situation.

Delta State EOC has been activated with Dr Ojimba as the Incident Manager for the Lassa Fever outbreak. 5 Pillar heads were appointed and tasked to constitute their team members and turn in their plans by 9:00am tomorrow at the next EOC Meeting

Since April 2018 till date, NCDC has supported 22 states in establishing Public Health Emergency Operations Centres. Getting to 36 states. Currently, eight states have activated their PHEOCs and are using this to coordinate the response to the ongoing outbreak of #Lassafever
