Volume up for The Wall That Heals convoy that just passed through downtown Delaware on its way to Havener Park in Liberty Township.

Thanks to the many volunteers who turned out this morning to construct The Wall That Heals in Liberty Township! We also held a short ceremony this morning honoring the lives lost on 9/11. The Wall will be open 24/7 through 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, at Havener Park.

For many, taking a name rubbing is an important part of a visit to The Wall That Heals. Pick up a form and pencil at the Information Tent, where volunteers can assist with locating names. To preserve the integrity of The Wall’s surface, do not use your own paper or pencil. #VVMF

After welcoming thousands of visitors, The Wall that Heals ended its time at Havener Park with a closing ceremony this afternoon. Thank you to everyone who came out this week to visit, reflect, honor and remember. Liberty Township #VVMF

Waking up at the Delaware County Fair this morning. The Commissioners will be holding their annual session at the Fair and come check out the special display celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first Ashley Junior Fair. Did you know it was the first junior fair in the world?

At the Commissioners’ session at the DelCo Fair today, we heard from reps of 4-H, the Ashley Junior Fair and the DelCo Agricultural Society. The Ashley Junior Fair, which was the first junior fair in the U.S. , existed from 1924-49 before becoming a part of the DelCo Fair.

The Delaware County Jail was recently accredited by the American Correctional Association and was among the first jails in the country to be audited under the newest standards. Sheriff Balzer said that fewer than 5 other county jails in Ohio have achieved this distinction.
