π¨ Politicians: turn the tide for nature π¨
With a #GeneralElection on the horizon, ALL political parties must commit to taking action for nature - before itβs too late.
Agree? Sign the #Nature2030 open letter π action.wildlifetrusts.org/page/130179/peβ¦
Nature needs action from our politicians , not more posturing . That's why I'm backing Wildlife and Countryside Link robust plans to see biodiversity restored across our landscapes .
Make the next General Election a nature election & add your name todayβ almost at 100K ! bit.ly/nature_2030
Nonsense on SSSIs from Derek Thomas MP ... 'Someone other than Natural England should be checking the scientific evidence to ensure that it is robust' then 'Defra have experts that can scrutinise the work'
Those experts ARE Natural England !

Big impact will be on the nesting areas for waders and reedbed species.
Fines and restoration funds are too little too late. How about putting π°π°π° at the source of the problem? Stopping profiteering polluters from killing our rivers in the first place, not this gentle slap on the wrist as they rake in the cash. #endsewagepollution
Nature in #NationalParks isnβt immune from the crisis that is happening elsewhere.
We need urgent action and major changes β the government needs to strengthen legislation and significantly increase the resources for nature recovery our Parks ππ
