Looking forward* to climate impacts undermining food security only for climate sceptics to then blame policies that are trying to tackle climate impacts for food shortages.

* Not looking forward to it at all.

Industrial agriculture at its worst. Cows are herbivores. This was never going to end well.

Ground-up chicken waste fed to cattle may be behind bird flu outbreak in US cows.

Wez Smith To say I am worried about the potential impact on the sea wall at Farlington would be an understatement...
Given the issues with the broken tidal flap, penstock and already very high internal water levels, this could get very messy 😬

Nature needs action from our politicians , not more posturing . That's why I'm backing Wildlife and Countryside Link robust plans to see biodiversity restored across our landscapes .

Make the next General Election a nature election & add your name today– almost at 100K ! bit.ly/nature_2030

Nonsense on SSSIs from Derek Thomas MP ... 'Someone other than Natural England should be checking the scientific evidence to ensure that it is robust' then 'Defra have experts that can scrutinise the work'

Those experts ARE Natural England !

The scene at the West Hayling nature reserve this morning. All of this went under water in the early hours of Tuesday during the record breaking high tide. Some birds had started nest building, but it was very early in the seabird breeding season thankfully 1/

jamie marsh Debbie Tann MBE Joshua Styles Bob Chapman Pete Potts It looks like a high percentage of the coastal Redshank & Lapwing breeding attempts along the Solent failed during this surge, when added to rain flooding in the last week, it's a very heavy blow.

Notice: Farlington Marshes severe weather ❗

Recent severe weather conditions and exceptionally high tides have caused considerable flooding on site and made the permissive trackway impassable. We strongly advise against visiting until conditions improve.

Fines and restoration funds are too little too late. How about putting πŸ’°πŸ’°πŸ’° at the source of the problem? Stopping profiteering polluters from killing our rivers in the first place, not this gentle slap on the wrist as they rake in the cash.

The real question is what happens next.

We’ve been told this is what’s going to happen for over 20 years. And this is just the start, not a one off event.

Things are going to get much worse in the very near future.
