Starting our week with rugby! We continued to develop our passing, learnt more about attack and defence and finished with games of Touch Rugby. We would love to put a Deanburn team together to compete at the Cluster tournament. Letters went home to those who were interested 👍🏻

Instead of our usual spelling routine, today we had to put the puzzle together in order to find our space themed spelling words! The picture of the International Space Station was a clue to what we’d be learning about for the rest of the day! #Space #BritishScienceWeek

We took part in BBC Bitesize for Teachers’s #LiveLesson to learn all about what it takes to live on the International Space Station. We learnt about exercise, diet and staying hydrated aboard the ISS and even gained our training badges! #BritishScienceWeek

We moved onto learning about the European Space Agency and the countries who are part of the European Space Agency. This included researching the flags of all 17 member countries! In the afternoon we began making models of the ISS which we will complete tomorrow #BritishScienceWeek #Space #IDL

Planting sunflowers today 🌻 We began our learning by discussing what plants need to survive before moving on to writing a set of clear instructions on how to plant the seeds. Our classmates, who were at cross country, followed our instructions when they were back at school 😀

In one experiment we learned about electrical conductors and insulators and made our own series to power a stopwatch with potatoes. This group successfully powered the stopwatch with electricity by joining hands! Amazing! #STEM #Experiment #Science #Learning

In our last challenge of the day, we had to build balloon cars. We took them into the playground to test them out after learning about Newton’s Third Law of Motion. Didn’t we do a great job? #STEM #Design #Technology #IDL #Engineering

What a phenomenal couple of days...the talent that the p4-7's have shown in Oliver! Jnr over the 3 shows has been immense. 👏🤩 What superstars you all are and a huge well done to everyone that made it happen 💙🎭💙
