The team at CoogTV CoogTV has absolutely been killing it since last year. If you’re a UH fan, you should follow them. They show up consistently, ask good questions, and produce quality video.

Houston head coach Willie Fritz said the point of emphasis this early in fall camp is building good habits. He wants UH to be the hardest working team in America. “When we were +1 or better (in TO battle), we were 4-0. When we were -1 or worse; we were 0-8.”

Houston Cougars head coach Kelvin Sampson gave a passionate talk today about the importance of young kids needing to play & learn the game of basketball more. “The thing I would tell kids coming up is spend more time playing basketball than working on basketball.”

Houston Cougars big man Joseph Tugler shared a health update after undergoing offseason surgery on his right foot. He’s not sure when he’ll be 100%, but in the mean time he has been working on free throw shooting. He’s been walking without any assistance.

Houston Cougars Joseph Tugler was reflective on the national championship game loss to Florida. He wishes he could have stayed on the floor: “I’m a big impact. I just got to stay on the floor more.”

Houston Cougars freshman Chris Cenac said the main focus during the summer was learning defense and culture. “The culture here is to give it your all. It’s like a brotherhood. Give it your all, you fight with your brothers. You play hard and you’re tough.”

Houston Cougars Chase McCarty said he has been working with the bigs in the summer and transitioned more to the 4. “Getting ready to be that knockdown shooter guy pick and pop and defend 1-4; 1-5 really.” He even played the 5 against Cedric Lath this summer.

Practice #5 in the books. Lots of intensity and competition amongst the Houston Cougars. Conner Weigman and Zeon Chriss looked good. Plays made by the receivers and running backs. Key word for Fritz: depth, depth, depth!

What’s crazy is, as good as Shedeur is playing, the critics will say “Yeah well against a bunch of Panther backups”.. without acknowledging he’s ALSO doing this with backups.

And I don’t wanna hear that “It’s only preseason” bs. Cause if he was out there not going in y’all would be on his ass about it! So give credit and grace lames. 🤷🏾‍♂️
