Wildfire - Ostrea Lake Update #3 Mon, June 23/25 8:30 AM EOC stood up again at 7 AM Current situation was quiet overnight. Overnight weather conditions helped contain the fire. DNR is back this morning & they have requested from HRFE: 2 tankers; 3 drones, w/ infrared capability

Yesterday, 35 HRFE firefighters were deployed along with 4 engines, 5 tankers & a command unit. Evacuation Centre at Musquodoboit Harbour rink   Red Cross reported that 5 people registered overnight & they didn’t have anyone arrive past 2215 PM.

Today’s Priorities: Confirm status of fire to determine if the evacuation order can be lifted for the remaining 30 homes. Dependent on that status determine if the evacuation centre is needed for the rest of the day or if it can be converted back to a comfort centre or stood down

The next situation report is at 12:00 noon today (June 23 ) and the next and possibly final update will be provided at 1 PM today. Please be patience and avoid the area . Let the firefighters and RCMP do their job without any interference. Thank you !
