Congrats Dr. Lisa D. Cook !

Great profile of the cutting edge research of one of the best young economic historians in the profession — Maggie Jones! (Full disclosure: she’s also a coauthor and is simply amazing.)

New WP out with @foley_kelly and Donn. L. Feir that evaluates the labour market returns to active labour market programs for Indigenous populations! TL;DR? Thread ⬇️ 1/N

This paper has been around for awhile now, but Donn. L. Feir, Rob Gillezeau and I are happy it’s now out as an NBER working paper. Our recent revisions show that limited access to credit prevented Indigenous nations from adjusting to the loss of the bison over the 20th century.

Very excited to share our paper on segregation in public accommodations, now accepted at the QJE. This paper was a long time in the making and we hope it encourages others to view the Civil Rights Era through an economic lens. Dr. Trevon D Logan David Rosé Dr. Lisa D. Cook

True story: This project started as a 30-minute meeting between an invited seminar speaker (me) and two graduate students (Maggie Jones David Rosé). Several years later, the first paper in our project is now forthcoming QJE with Dr. Lisa D. Cook A🧵with a happy ending! 1/N
