Last sentence absolutely correct by Ian Brodie. I would slightly amend the first and replace 'governing party' with 'voters', who they are actually seeking to convince. Partisan politics can clarify views and choices for voters. And voters can judge on tone in doing so.

I know nothing more about this particular MP than what I read here, but politicians resigning - and women politicians at that - due to the deterioration in public and political discourse in the country should be a concern for everyone. #cdnpoli
