Matt Robertson walked off the ice after rookie practice with Adam Edstrom. I asked the 6-4 Robertson how often he has to look up to other players, like the 6-7 Edstrom. He grinned. "Him, Remps, But not too often.'' But, he pointed out, there are three other 6-7 guys at this camp.

#NYR announce 2024-25 training camp roster and schedule ⬇️

London + Oshawa will host a 2 game rivalry series between the CHL + USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program. The WHL/OHL/ QMJHL will combine players in a showdown of top 1st year NHL Draft eligible prospects vs NTDP. The CHL/USA Prospects Challenge will be held Nov 26+27.

Drury says #NYR are mostly healthy heading into camp. Only notes are that Ryder Korczak got dinged up over the weekend and Riley Nash has a lower-body injury and won't be at camp.

Chris Drury wouldn't say anything about Igor Shesterkin contract extension talks but said, "we're going to do everything we can to make sure he's here for a long time."

Drury on where things stand with Trouba: "Jacob and I have conversations all the time," noting that they spoke multiple times this summer. Added: "He’s very clear with where he stands with me… I’m excited to have him back. I know he had a terrific offseason." #NYR

Drury on Kakko: "He dealt with an injury last year & admittedly he didn't have the best year... Another guy that had a terrific offseason and in early testing just looks great. I think he's out to prove that last year was a fluke, and he's ready to have a good year for us." #NYR

Any extension talks for Lafrenière? "In our eyes, he continues to get better and better. I’m not going to get into negotiations, but he certainly is an exciting young piece for us and one that we hope, just like Igor, is here for a long time." #NYR
