And we’re off.

Fierce geomagnetic solar storm hitting earth now.

Could be best chance of seeing Northern Lights for many years.

If it lasts!

Dave Throup The bluebells in the field off Old Hollow are not bad too ( and you could smell them). was sniffing at the smellier wild garlic in the woods below. The newly constructed small animals and insect house looks good. And Elgar is decorated for the well dressing.

Updated 4 year monthly rainfall anomalies for England.

April was the 10th successive month with above average rainfall. 6 of those 10 saw more than 150% of normal rain.

Nearly half of all months was either extremely wet of dry (less than 50% or more than 150%).

The Government’s groundbreaking and world leading Plan for Water means there is low or no confidence that 80% of our lakes and rivers will be in decent condition by the 2027 target.

A yawning gap between rhetoric and action.

Even with Water Framework Directive there was no chance most waterbodies would be in good condition in 2 1/2 years (currently 14%).

Government is probably less worried by hand wringing from an ineffectual OEP than infraction proceedings by EU though.

Nearly 80% of 380 climate scientists predict global temperatures will rise by at least 2.5°C above pre industrial levels by the end of the Century.

That’s catastrophic by the way.

The Black Hill bluebells reaching their peak.

Well worth a visit, especially as it’s Malvern well dressing week too.

Hugely impressed again by the cycling infrastructure in South Wales.

Did over 5 miles on this stretch through Cwmbran without any road sections. All double width good tarmac, excellent signage and crossing points.

It can be done.

Presume most of this was EU funded?

Bugger!

Got to the top but mechanical failure meant a very long limp back.

Guess they’re adventures for a variety of reasons.
