Invited to address a conference in Berlin about my work in Gaza hospitals during the present conflict.
The German government has forcibly prevented me from entering the country
Silencing a witness to genocide before the ICJ adds to Germany's complicity in the ongoing massacre.

Dreaming up new things for The Shot to do. Ultimately it comes down to what you want. The podcast will return in a new format (or two) soonish. The newsletter is improving. Would you be interested in live streamed chats, interviews, live events/hangs, that sort of thing? LMK!

The vic shadow housing minister Richard Riordan MP said me encouraging people to enter abandoned homes is “grossly unfair” - you know what’s actually unfair? Homelessness.

David Milner Given Dave and Ronni seem to be the only 2 credible and entertaining real journos in Oz I would love the podcast to return and focus on broad topics such as the demise of 2 party politics/ rise of independents, continuing to highlight the decline of mainstream media etc.

the xdenburg Absolutely. The only time I've made any effort re Sky is when I *happened upon* four stickers in Martin Place (including on the studio door) & one at a train station in the east. I photographed them & informed David Milner. Apparently, anti-bs hooligans are out & about here too! 🙃

David Milner PR and comms people taking over journalism has been almost as detrimental to the profession, as the Murdoch dominance.

Exactly. The decline in media working conditions (less time/resources per reporter per story) is a very real thing. Politicians, naturally, have worked out strategies to gamify and exploit these realities to their own ends (i.e. talking absolute dog shit all the time).

It is harder, yes, because you need to research and think, and not many reporters have the time/capacity for that. Still, should be fucking mandatory.

Times were nice and simple for the Liberal Party when the political narrative was worker versus the boss, unions versus big business.
These days they have to create divisions to gain political relevance in the Westminster system.
No wonder the Cross Bench is gaining ground.

Only in Gaza you will see airdrops and airstrikes in one picture.

No one should look to the sky and wonder if what's falling is death or dinner.

During the massacre at al-Shifa Hospital, the Israeli army shot patients in their beds and doctors who refused to abandon the sick, separated people into groups with differently-colored bracelets, and executed hundreds of civil government employees.

Is it a mainstream media rule that if someone like Trump is running for president, you have to pretend he’s telling the truth even though you know he’s not?

The tricky part is that the moral character of potential PMs is newsworthy, imo, so what reporters should actually be talking about is just how low PD is willing to stoop to hold our attention and fill our minds with outrageous, anxiety inducing nonsense. THAT would be news

Nick Yes it can.

We have the most amazing independents in federal parliament - brilliant women (and men). They're full of exciting, innovative policies and ideas.

Nothing Dutton says is original, it's just the same old tired tropes wheeled out.

Why bother paying any attention?
