Research has shown that people with a strong connection with nature are typically happier, with nature generating happy emotions, including calmness, joy & creativity.
#MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #PollinatingLondon
This really is no surprise.
Last year we saw a new ice centre built on one of the last remaining habitats for #hedgehogs in East London, despite alternative sites existing.
Local & national government now turning their backs on visionary #nature -rich plan for East London Waterworks Park πππππ π
So no wild swimming sites for London here while the East London Waterworks Park πππππ community plan to create one in the lower Lea Valley is threatened by a government proposal to build on the site. Something amiss?

Beauty and the Buzzline. The meadows we made on Daubeney Fields with Daubeney Primary School children are flowering in their second year. They brighten the park and boost biodiversity - creating habitat for species like the Banded Demoiselle damselfly. #hackneybuzzline

During the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan election, Sadiq Khan pledged to turn London into a wildlife haven. He promised funding for meadows and local pollinator habitats. Today's the first working day back - a day to double down on his commitment to make our city nature rich. #hackneybuzzline
Really bad news.
This is a very significant over-development planned for #Leyton which will negatively impact the environment in a number of ways.
The planned building of high rises on flood plains is inexcusable in these times.

Absolutely. This is why ecoACTIVE is interviewing this week for a new 'postcode gardener ' to build the #hackneybuzzline - a 4 km pollinator corridor linking 4 parks through 3 social housing estates. Not quite for life yet, but certainly for the next 3 years. Friends of the Earth
We are please to support the Reflections of the Lord Mayor Pollinator Competition.
The competition is open to year 6 pupils asking them to craft a compelling design that not only captures the essence of pollinators but also provides a brief explanation.
