Read all about Dave Hembrough's Civic Fellowship with us & DESA! As our CEO, Lucy Melleney says, this partnership puts young people 'at the heart of community-based research and can be a powerful asset in developing our understanding of needs and aspirations'. 💚

Our Fun Fitness sessions with Sheffield United Community Foundation are back on tomorrow. Two new attendees came along last time and really enjoyed themselves – if you’re a local woman, why not come along and give it a try, too? Sessions are for all abilities and supported by our volunteers!

Sharing findings from our Community Researchers at this Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre event on Tuesday showcased why it matters to do research with, rather than on, communities. Our Community Researcher collaboration with Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre has trained 15 local people, who've done 27 interviews already!👏

Really interesting to have attended this workshop today, talking about VCSE, NHS & universities' collaboration in Research. We're glad to be involved & able to contribute to the Guiding Principles, using our long experience working, and building trust, with local communities.💚

A big thank you to Natalie Johnson from Seven Hills Primary Care Network for coming to talk to our Men's Health Group and Diabetes Group about stroke prevention today. As you can see, we had a lot of interest - 34 participants came along to learn from the session! 🙌

Well done to Sheffield Community Contact Tracers for having their paper on Covid Confidence published in BMJ_Open.👏 As one of the organisations who ran these sessions with them, we know how impactful they were - so it's great that this paper shares the evaluation to a wider audience.

Our video from Somali Dance last week got a great reaction – and here are the drums that the group dance to. The group are back again this evening, 5-7pm. Women of all ethnicities are welcome to come and learn this traditional dance style!

Monika from Sheffield United Community Foundation has training tomorrow, so there won’t be a women’s Fun Fitness session this week. She will be back with us next week, though, so let us know if you would like to come along then!

DWB's Jo was glad to attend this event, supporting 7 of our participants to be there, too. They all enjoyed meeting others who are also exploring music with their communities, witness the difference this is making & be valued for their involvement in this co-production research.

A bit later in the month than usual, but here’s a look back at March – another productive month for us. We’re particularly happy that we’re reaching such a diverse range of ages and ethnicities. 💚

Absolutely brilliant - an example of the role of community anchors in supporting arts and creative activity to address health inequality and why most community anchors don’t need to rely on 1/2
