Last weekend was massively rewarding with youngsters from Cumbria playing lacrosse with those from Greater Manchester in a day of coaching and playing. Back at it tomorrow morning developing my eventual replacements!!

2 wickets for 6 runs, one catch and set up a run out… Then 14 runs on a god awful wicket before falling to my nemesis, the slow bowling 8 year old 😂

Getting no sympathy at home so will moan on here instead! I am absolutely battered after a 14-14 draw with Heaton Mersey yesterday. Mens Lacrosse is tough when you think you’re 30 years younger than you are. I am breaking records for involuntary noises every time I move today.

What a dilemma! Since growing my moustache for Movember, we have drawn and won in the league after a previous long run of defeats. There are already mutterings in the team about it remaining for the season less we break the lucky charm…

I was toying with hanging up the Lacrosse stick, but went and purchased cleats which match my kit… Guessing I am subconsciously backtracking and will be available for the 24/25 season. First need to survive the last two games and an entire cricket season!

And that’s a wrap on season 23/24. Coached the Borders and Wilmslow kids in their first match vs Stockport this morning. Top scored for the team this afternoon despite taking a shot to the back of the head (which totally missed my helmet) meaning I was a bit dazed!

As a workman who blames his tools for being caught out last week, I changed them. What s glorious afternoon for hitting a bat with a mallet!
