The Biden administration is concerned Israel is making a 'major strategic error' by denying 'major, possibly generational damage' to Israel's reputation worldwide over its war in Gaza. npr.org/2024/03/22/124…

What are Israeli views on hunger in Gaza? Government spokeswoman Raquela Karamson says it's a myth. A former senior Israeli official on military law told me Israel 'cannot dodge responsibility' to ensure food. I spoke with Steve Inskeep about my reporting:

The UN is recruiting the heads of major clans in Gaza to secure food aid to a starving population. The role these families play now could also lay the ground for who helps run Gaza after the war.

What does it take to flee Gaza today? $5000 per adult & $2500 per child. For most Gazans, it's the only way to leave the war zone.

On March 1, around 400 travelers paid an estimated $1.3 million total, according to an NPR analysis of the traveler lists.

“In Gaza, anger grows at Hamas along w/ fury at Israel”

This piece, reported by Anas Baba & Daniel Estrin, contains rich quotes from Palestinians in Gaza. It’s a helpful read to understand why—as public opinion polling confirms—many in Gaza criticise Hamas & its leader, Sinwar.

Excellent reporting by NPR. Explaining the anger against Hamas in Gaza. I wrote about this phenomenon a few weeks ago in my ⁦Al-Monitor⁩ article:
