After tonight I think Switzerland is the stand out winner.

The atrocities being committed by the Israeli government in Gaza are beyond vile. Russia was banned from Eurovision for raging war, Israel should be too.

Civilian lives matter. Ceasefire now.

It’s good but I can’t see enough Tory backbenchers suddenly developing a conscience and voting against Sunak for this to be successful.

Simply untrue. Other valid reasons include but aren’t limited to:
- Night Shift work
- pre booked holiday
- working away
- away at Uni
- mental health
- injury
- lack of voter ID (as required by Tories)
- personal choice as permitted by law

An independent getting so many votes is unprecedented. And whilst I didn’t support his campaign, I have to respect the effort he and his team put into this race to do so well.
People in the North East have had enough of Labour. More people voted against them than for them.

This is not a good result for the North East.

Birtley - Lib Dem GAIN by 5 votes Amazing!

Does feel a bit strange knowing that it would have been me in an alternative timeline had my personal circumstances not changed, but it’s a fantastic achievement and I’m sure the Birtley Focus team will give it their all.

This is very disappointing.

Labour have had a big telling off in South Tyneside. And it’s possible they might also lose a few in Gateshead. Think Labour might finally be paying the price for all the damage they’ve done to the region.
