I know Rhode Island’s best chapter is yet to come. We’ve made progress, but we’ve still got a lot more to do. Four more years to get the job done.

RI’s culinary scene is vital to our economy, so it’s crucial that we invest in a pipeline of talent. My proposed budget would create a Culinary and Hospitality Hub at Community College of Rhode Island Newport to train our future workforce and boost incomes as part of our #RhodetoProsperity initiative.

Rhode Island has climbed 10 spots in U.S. News & World Report' "Best States" ranking under my administration. This progress reflects our ongoing work to strengthen economic opportunity across the state. There’s more to do—and we’re just getting started. Let’s keep moving RI forward, together.

🆕: Fitch upgraded Rhode Island’s credit rating to AA+, citing our disciplined fiscal management and strong spending controls. This means lower borrowing costs for the state and higher confidence from investors—which will help bring in new businesses and support economic growth.

I’m proud that Rhode Island took an important step forward in protecting our communities from gun violence. I included an assault weapons ban in my budget for this very reason — and as a result, tonight we saw progress.

I thank the General Assembly and the many advocates for their tireless work, and I hope they’ll join me when I sign this bill into law. As Governor, I’m committed to working with our partners on common sense gun safety measures to keep our communities safe.

Hard work should be met with fair pay. Today, I invested in working Rhode Islanders by signing Representative Bennett and Senator Burke’s legislation to raise the minimum hourly wage from $15 to $17 over the next two years.

At a time when we should be moving forward with solutions for energy, jobs and affordability, the Trump Administration is choosing delay and disruption. Governor Ned Lamont and I will pursue every avenue to reverse the decision to halt work on Revolution Wind.

At 80% completion, Revolution Wind has already generated 1,000 union jobs and is on the cusp of generating reliable, affordable energy for RI and CT. We need Washington to understand that we can’t stop short of the finish line without harming our economy. #OurJobsOurEnergy

On this Labor Day, Governor Kathy Hochul, Governor Maura Healey, Governor Ned Lamont, Governor Phil Murphy and I strongly urge the Trump Administration to keep our offshore projects on track—for our jobs, our families, our competitiveness, our energy security, and our future.

Revolution Wind is back on track—a big win for Rhode Island and Connecticut. Workers are returning to the job and we’re continuing our progress toward lowering long-term energy costs for families and businesses.

I’m encouraged by today’s court rulings, but let’s be clear: President Trump could act right now and authorize SNAP contingency funds ahead of the next court hearing on Monday—and that’s exactly what he should do.
