On the plus side, it’s great to be nominated at the Commercial Radio News Awards as part of the East team at Bauer. Special thanks go to Jo Summerbell for this!
What a cup tie. Goals, drama and emotions running high towards the end on and off the pitch. A 2-2 draw at the end of 90 minutes was a fair result for March Town FC and St Neots Town F.C. Official tonight. But the lottery of penalties gets the #hares out of jail. Back to back finals to come.
Cheers all round from March Town FC supporters tonight as their team book two cup finals in the space of a week. A scrappy Jack Saunders goal on 75 minutes did the trick for the #hares, who struggled to break down a stubborn Histon Football Club side at the GER until that key moment. 1/2
March rode their luck to scrape past St Neots last week to continue their Hinchingbrooke Cup defence. They’ll also play a Cambridgeshire FA Invitation Cup final for the first time in God knows how long. Double team silverware on the horizon in the same season? May be a first. 2/2
A fascinating semi-final ends in derby delight for Ely City FC, coming from behind to beat higher league Newmarket Town. Strong support for City, who won’t fear March Town FC in the county cup final if they play with the same attacking flair. Tasty showpiece to come. 1/2
Might want to ramp up the volume for this video as the Ely City FC players get a raucous reception on their way off the pitch. Some former March faces in the Ely setup, like manager Guy Habbin who, since leaving the Hares, has done an excellent job to lead City on the up. 2/2
Might not look like it, but there sure was a healthy turnout for a five-goal contest between March Town FC and Easington Sports FC on #NonLeagueDay. March getting the job done to keep up their play-off push, and perhaps more eyes have been opened to the thrills #nonleague can offer.
Football for a fiver St Ives Town FC today, and a healthy crowd responded. Solid turnout from promotion-chasing Halesowen Town FC fans, whose team couldn’t break down a solid home defence. Goalless draw sums up how balanced this game was on a glorious day for it.
After play-off heartbreak two days ago, scenes of joy for March Town FC tonight. Two goals - one scored in each half - was all that was needed. Ash Taylor’s men showing the 505-strong crowd they can play with comfort and swagger to win a Cambs Invitation Cup. 1/2
Minutes after beating Ely, a sense of unity between the March Town FC coaches, players and supporters. Even Hares boss Ash Taylor channelling his inner Jurgen Klopp fist bump in appreciation of the noise conjured up all game. Silverware secured, now a cup double in sight. 2/2
Rio to the rescue! For 73 minutes vs Lutterworth Town FC, the game was short of a spark in front of a healthy crowd at the GER. But having missed a golden chance, up step Rio Henson - a summer signing - to strike home from close range. 1-0 to March Town FC. Not all wins are so simple.
Buoyant crowd despite a disappointing result at the GER as March Town FC’s #FACup run this season comes to a halt. ❌ 1-3 vs Gorleston Football Club 🚀 Cracking equaliser from Flo Tsaguim ✅ Competed against higher league opponents 🗣️ Fans loud and proud in defeat Plenty of positives.
