I volunteered with friendship circle as part of my bar mitzvah project and continued working with them throughout high school. They do amazing work. The services they provide are open to ALL people. Terrible to see such a wonderful group targeted in this way.

Excellent essay by Dan Lips featuring research from my Dept. of Ed. Reform colleague Harry A. Patrinos: "school closures in developed countries reduced students' lifetime earnings by $21,000." nationalreview.com/2025/05/public…

Congress is expanding 529s to create a framework for funding lifelong learning from k-12 through college & job training. Following historic state reforms establishing K-12 ESAs across the country, Congress should begin linking federal funding formulas to student-owned 529s to

It's time for TSAs -- Teacher Savings Accounts--government-authorized savings accounts that allow educators to allocate funds for various uses including classroom supplies -- currently teachers spend $850 out of pocket on classroom expenses Great piece by Cooper Conway

He has a good point. Also, Congress and Tom Coburn Remembered used the debt limit increase in 2010 to require annual U.S. GAO reviews of waste and duplication. That work has now resulted in $700B+ in taxpayer savings.
