I attended #nusnc22 & was disappointed by the lack of student voice in policy. This isn’t democracy - only able to attend 1 workshop & not feeding back on all 6 policies. Then conference-stage reflections from bias self appointed volunteers with no idea what final policy is.

We don't know if a tragic suicide case was "caused" by non-refundable masters fees. But I don't need to wait for the inquest to argue the policy is wrong generally, potentially against the law, and outside of the attention of the regulators supposed to serve the student interest.

Exclusive: NUS President Shaima Dalali has been suspended from her job following an investigation into allegations of anti-Semitism. Her suspension follows a QC-led inquiry into what sources describe as “very serious” allegations.

The second part of the inquiry is into the NUS as an institution. That is still on-going. Her suspension comes after the Government cut ties with the NUS back in May.
