Righto twitter, what do you think on this one then, to follow Louise Cook's Q? 2 farmlets have almost no cull space due to early cow-failure culls and worse repro. Do we run 2-3 less cows get rid of Junk & risk being short on numbers? CANNOT swap cows between herds. #ResearchFarm

It has been pretty tough conditions to be born into in Southland the last few days but these heifers born at SDH today have had lots of TLC with their hot water bottles, calf covers and a tummy full of warm milk.

We're so excited about this project! Can we find a cost effective solution that supports wintering with infrastructure for $500/cow, has comfy cows, has good environmental performance & financially sustainable? Well we're gonna give it a good crack! Thanks Ministry for Primary Industries & DairyNZ 🤗👍
