The thing I miss most about coaching right now (even above finding a way to satisfy the competitive side of me) is not being apart of those daily conversations w/players. Navigating the day2day & celebrating the tiny wins that add up @ the end of the season-the stuff no one sees.

I have a 200 book list of the books I have read and plan to read. If you would like this list, DM me “reading list” and your email address and I’ll send it to you!

Eye contact. Head nod. Actively listening. The greats don’t just “take” coaching, they “crave” coaching. Take coaching seriously, not personally.

Players, learn this now. Basketball is what you do. It is not who you are. Never find your identity in this sport. Only Jesus can fill that role. You are a child of God. Nothing will ever beat that...ever.

BASKETBALL COACHES: Why don’t we all put one of our best man sets/ zone sets out there for any and all coaches during this very difficult time? Let’s see how many we can get out there over the weekend. This one I got from Coach Prohm.

4 on 4 is the most common way I practice zone offence and pressure. If odd front box formation. If even front we form a diamond formation. The rule of 3 is used to choose the points of emphasis for the offence and defence.

DRILL: Knicks Rebounding. 🏀| In this 2️⃣vs2️⃣ rebounding drill, score is kept between the blue and white team. 🔘| The defense must get 3️⃣ rebounds (outs), before switching to offense. Each offensive rebound is worth 2️⃣. 🔘| This drill stresses toughness over technique.
