Courts usually assume that the witness’ first statement is what they really meant.

Amid the various epithets - disgusting, factional, divisive, transparent - the one charge Zack Polanski doesn’t make is that what Miriam Mirwitch said isn’t true.

Interesting idea being floated to deal with the “gap” when an election is called and all MPs cease to hold office, leaving the executive in charge.
Instead, House of Lords would hold residual powers and govern without the need for a vote in UK House of Commons.
