As the weather is hotting up once again, many alerts are being issued about heath/wildfire risk. Please refrain from having any BBQs or bonfires near any heath/woodland as it only takes a few stray embers to start a wildfire! ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

Yesterday Wilton along with Salisbury attended a fire involving a combine harvester. It was well alight on arrival and the fire was spreading to the surrounding crop fields so further assistance from Andover Fire Station & Fordingbridge Fire was requested to prevent the fire from spreading.

Tonight Amesbury crew and @FireWilton took part in a HAZMAT scenario drill involving a Chlorine leak. Big thanks to the Amesbury Abbey for allowing us to use their premises. We regularly carry out training drills to make sure we are ready to respond and protect our community๐Ÿš’

Bit of RTC training last night, demonstrating how to stabilise a vehicle A) on its side and B) on itโ€™s roof, as seen here. We use a system of bracing bars called StabFast to minimise movement of a vehicle to protect a casualty, and to create a stable working platform for us.

4 people rescued from a ๐Ÿ”ฅ in Salisbury last night. Wilton is an on call station & this means we can only respond when we have enough crew available & last night we were โ€˜off the runโ€™ so crews from @amesburyfirestation & Fordingbridge Fire had to respond.

No we haven't swapped our appliances over... We have just been helping our friends over at Pewsey Fire Station out by providing standby cover for their station area.

Also just so happens to be where our sister water carrier lives ๐Ÿš’

โฐ Early morning wake up call for the Wilton crew today, straw bale stack well alight. Crews from Salisbury, Wilton and Andover safely prevented the fire from spreading to the farmers crop fields.
Also a chance to have a little nose around Andover's shiny new water carrier ๐Ÿš’

Early shout to stand-by at Salisbury station, then got a call to a fire involving hay bales on a farm near Cholderton. Andover water carrier helped with maintaining our water supply - incident expected to last most of the day so spare a thought for relief crews ๐Ÿฅต Dorset&Wiltshire FRS

Tragically, over the weekend, 10 people drowned in rivers or waterways across the country. An additional 3 people, are still missing after getting into trouble in water.

If you get into trouble, stay calm, float on your back and shout.
