Here’s a look into Moon Hockey off season workouts from last night. We are working Olympic progressions. For most of these athletes, it’s there first time using these progressions. The best way I found to teach them in a group setting is through a tempo‘d group clean complex.

Speed requires power. Power requires strength. Strength requires mass... Now play that in reverse and you get? - Bigger➡️Stronger➡️Faster! If you have a coach encouraging you to gain weight, it’s for a good reason!

Kids think that in order to improve they have to workout multiple times a day or make their workouts 2 hours long. They are missing a huge part! You could have the best training program in the world but unless their diet matches it, they will have a hard time getting results!

Your 1RM is only a piece to the puzzle! Do we want you to get stronger? Yes, but strength comes in many different ways. If your only goal is to PR every time you step in the gym, your performance in your sport will suffer because you are missing other aspects of training!

Maturing as an athlete is realizing that practices and workouts are the easy part… Fueling yourself and eating correctly is the hard part! #finishyourmeals

There is a time for everything and a season for every aspect of training. There is a time to max out and a time to lift light. A time to peak and a time to build a base. A time to train hard and a time to recover. Understanding this sets you up for a long career of success

We see far to many strength coaches throw out their lifting program once the season begins and just focus on mobility.. That is insane! Mobility is a big piece to the puzzle but eliminating lifting in-season is like turning the power off in your house once the sun comes up.

The main goal when lifting should not be to beat the competition or those around you but to improve yourself and try to reach your own potential.

Just because the pain is gone doesn’t mean you truly fix the problem. This is why taking a few weeks off lifting isn’t the solution to fixing back, hip, or knee pain!

Best advice we can give to young athletes in the gym! -Don’t worry about what anybody else is lifting or the exercise they are performing around you. They are not you. -Focus on your own lifts and getting better each day. -Keep showing up. -Stay patient. -Consistency is key.
