Tioga Pass Road was amazing for night photography on that first night before anyone knew the lower gate was open. Thrilled to have two NASA JPL employees join us! I’ve been a NASA fan since #Apollo11 . JeffSullivanPhotography.com #darksky #nightphotography #Astrophotography

iPhone shot just now, taken through solar eclipse viewing glasses. We’re shooting through special solar film on our DSLRs as well. Never look at the sun. Especially don’t view the sun through the magnification of a lens! #solareclipse

NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center director Clinton Wallace says: "This is an unusual and potentially historic event". The solar storm that is set to hit tonight could be the strongest we've seen in 19 years. Best viewing in extreme northern Utah: FRI 11 PM - SAT 3AM

Aurora borealis can be captured in Death Valley National Park (red toward the left/north end of the Milky Way arch). We'll be looking for more aurorae in this solar maximum period during our upcoming Death Valley photography workshops: jeffsullivanphotography.com/death-valley-p… #NorthernLights

Really nice aurora borealis so far tonight at Topaz Lake, Nevada. iPhone photo, can’t wait to see what the big cameras pick up.
