Another bloody day in Lebanon. At least 39 people killed & 136 wounded. 4 killed & 39 injured in an Israeli attack on Beirut's southern suburbs this afternoon. Tonight, an Israeli strike hit an apartment outside Beirut, killing an official w/ the Christian Lebanese Forces.

A Lebanese military investigation states that the missile that killed Pierre & his wife was aimed specifically at the floor he lived on. While local media reported that Pierre raised alarm about someone being in the apartment above him, the army said there were no new tenants.

UNIFIL says the Israeli military temporarily detained a peacekeeper this evening after blocking a logistics convoy. The incident highlights growing threats for the peacekeeping mission, one of the UN’s most dangerous. Several peacekeepers have recently been killed & injured.
