Last week, Year 2 visited a synagogue to kickstart their learning about Judaism. This has really helped to bring their RE unit to life.

Today Year 1 enjoyed a sunny walk to the postbox. We have learning about our local area and where we live. We wrote our address on the front of an envelope and sent a postcard home inside it. We can’t wait for the postman to come!

In support of Go Bright for Bodie, Class Woodpecker took a moment to engage in a variety of creative ways to show their loved ones what they mean to them and why they make them a happier person. It has been a lovely way to round off an incredible start to the year.

Today, we went Bright for Bodie. We learned about The Bodie Hodges Foundation and the work they do to support families who have lost a child. In our KS1 and Year 3 assembly, we discussed kindness and how we could support the charity too.

As part of our Bright for Bodie day, Hedgehog class made kindness puzzles to share with someone they care about. We also decided on having a compliment captain and a helpful hero as two new classroom jobs.

Year 6 enjoyed an ASB Busters (anti-social behaviour) workshop from Blaby District Council today! We now know what anti-social behaviour is and what to do if we see it happening.

Year 1 had lots of fun visiting Newark’s Houses Museum. They explored a range of past and present toys and discussed what each toy was made from and how this has changed over the years. After that, they really enjoyed looking around the museum and its gardens.

Owl Class have thoroughly enjoyed designing and building their Stone Age shelters - fit for any Lego Stone Age family! They chose to build their structures out of natural materials, binding sticks together to make a frame before adding suitable shelter from the wind and rain.
