All schools that receive public tax dollars should be held to the same accountability standards and reporting- fiscally & academically. State Takeover is triggered by data. Yet, select schools are exempt from much of the data collection. 🤦🏼‍♀️ #beinformed

A great new policy brief from IEA - Education about how Latin American students' view democracy. The brief is well written, engaging and a great use of #ICCS2016 data. Nice work Andres Sandoval-Hdez Ernesto Treviño Daniel Miranda @sylviaschme ! iea.nl/publications/s…

More than 2/3 of the 8th graders in #Chile, #Colombia, #Mexico, #Peru & #DominicanRepublic would support a #Dictatorship if it brings economic development and security. What are the explanations and policy implications of this finding? #PolicyBrief iea.nl/sites/default/…

PISA has plms but does a decent job at assessing US students on what the OECD believes students should know. Scores are fairly similar to NAEP which asses what students are taught. Stagnant scores should be a concern. This article is worth a look. nytimes.com/2019/12/03/us/…

Let's just invalidate this interpretation of PISA: 1) China did not participate in PISA (four areas participated) 2) PISA doesn't specifically assess what schools are tasked to teach. (It asses what the OECD thinks is important) Steve Hanke

You got to be kidding me. She screws teachers out of loan forgiveness and then says this crap.... totally out of touch with reality.
