The Durham Regional Police - Central East Division Roadway Safety Initiative has wrapped up for March and will be retuning for two weeks mid April. Our team was able to take impaired and suspended drivers off the road. Seize vehicles, RADAR detectors and find missing persons all while enforcing the HTA.^mh

Radar detectors are illegal to possess in a vehicle or use in Ontario as this driver just found out. The fine is $170 and adds 3 demerit points.

Today seems to be the day for innovative excuses to allow you to speed. The most popular one by far is “but I was just speeding to get to the bathroom” but none of them are valid. Leta all do our part to keep the roads safe. ^mh
