ECS students read about Chester Nez and the Navajo code talkers today. We learned about other secret codes and cyphers. We all decoded these special joke messages to test our skills. I was so impressed!

Our teachers are getting ready for the Durant Road MS Family STEM Challenge on March 26. Lots of laughter today in grade level as our teachers "tried out" the challenge activities. Today is the last day to register at bit.ly/drmsstemnight

That last week before trackout was wildly busy in the learning commons! We were reflective with #breakoutedu on musical figurative language, collaborative in solving equations with #giantmathwinder, and creative with experimentation in STEM challenges. Can't wait for Q4!

Our MLLs/ESL students got to play library vocabulary loteria this week to review common phrases and words from the library.

Our Student Library Advisory Crew (aka SLACkers) finished the statement "The library is an important part of our school because/but/so..." The answers for all 3 were enlightening, but it makes me proud that Ss feel our library is important because it's inclusive.

Our students aren't old enough to vote in this presidential election yet, but they are certainly learning about government and the electoral college now. So happy to see Keri KissaneHagadorn using the hallway outside library as part of her classroom today. 🫰🏻🫰🏻
