Interested in skilled motor control and large-scale recording using the new #Neuropixels NHP? Stop by our poster (I-102) tonight at #cosyne2022. With Daniel Wolpert Michael Shadlen @seanescola Mark Churchland Francisco Sacadura @najabam and others.

This was a fun review to write with James Heald Máté Lengyel. We try to unify the computations underlying context-dependent learning across multiple domains: conditioning, episodic memory, neuroeconomics and motor control - providing a unifying vernacular.

Krishna Shenoy was an incredible scientist and generous colleague. He leaves an outstanding legacy of discoveries and trainees. I will miss him as a force in the field. My condolences to his friends and family. Krishna Shenoy #KrishnaShenoy

This is a fun collaboration with Máté Lengyel and Yul HR Kang (강형률) taking me outside my motor control comfort zone!

We are delighted to welcome Professor Daphna Shohamy, a leading expert in learning and memory, as our new director and CEO! zuckermaninstitute.columbia.edu/daphna-shohamy…

Cool new task by @AliceCMo Leslie Sibener, PhD Tiffany Chen Daniel Wolpert Rui Costa et al where mice learn to move a joystick into covert spatial targets, with interesting interactions between initial exploration, RL & individual differences in control strategy! 👉biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Calling talented early-career scientists: Applications are now open for the Columbia University's Zuckerman Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. This is your chance to pursue pioneering research into critical aspects of the brain. tiny.cc/zi_postdoc Applications close on December 18, 2023.

In this new Resource article, Evan Cesanek Daniel Wolpert et al. introduce Ouvrai, an open-source solution that facilitates the design and execution of remote VR studies, capitalizing on the surge in VR headset ownership. nature.com/articles/s4156…

Author Jennifer Homans will discuss the nature of dance with neuroscientist Daniel Wolpert as part of ‘Where Ideas Come From.’ Moderated by Dean Emerita Carol Becker and @zuckermanbrain Director Daphna Shohamy on Thurs Oct 10! More: bit.ly/4gn9fFW @cba_nyu

Finally! This is the version of record; it's also the version to read, thanks to the review process at eLife. The finding was out of reach before macaque Neuropixels. eLife - the journal: Direct observation of the neural computations underlying a single decision doi.org/10.7554/eLife.…
