“Leaning On the Everlasting Arms”, a great old hymn, is more than a song when you are the “leaner”. “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms…” Deuteronomy 33:27

When you see the egocentric and arrogant person appear to be untouchable as they hurt others, ….remember this Chapter 1 begins the story…. Chapters in between…. tell the details of the story…. The final chapter….reveals the final ending….and God writes that chapter.

The goodness and mercies of God never cease to amaze me. Nothing He has done for me is either earned or deserved. I feel no sense of entitlement, only unworthiness clothed with gratitude. To be His child is an indescribable honor.

“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast….” Hebrews 6:19 In all of human history, never has the sea been stormier, nor the skies of reality darker, and there is little confidence in those who would be Captain …but in Jesus we have an anchor.

“..but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past,and looking forward to what lies ahead,I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God,through Jesus Christ,is calling us.”Philippians3:13-14 NLT If our purpose is pure,our focus is right.

Welcome to Christmas under Biden, Harris, Pelosi and Schumer. Rolling power outages, heats off, coal plants shut down, can’t get turkeys, pies, cakes and dressings baked, but plenty of frozen folks. Rejoice, we’ve got windmill and solar technology and lots of left wing fantasy.

For this age, to look upon Ancient Rome on the eve of it’s certain unstoppable fall, complete with it’s perverted immorality, greed and avarice, seared consciences, lack of shame and remorse, and total disregard for the sanctity of life, is like looking into a very clear mirror.

“When the wicked are in authority, sin flourishes, but the godly will live to see their fall.” Proverbs 29:16 NLT The way it is now…..will not always be. God is watching….and will have the final word.

Life has darkness and life has light. Life has despair and life has hope. Life can be ugly and life can be beautiful. To recognize the former and embrace the latter is the secret.

I am tired…. Of powerful leaders who in reality are very weak. Of famous people who in reality are infamous. Of a culture that readily embraces ideology completely contrary to God’s word. Of journalistic media that we do not know whether to believe or not. I am tired.

This world is so rapidly sinking into an abyss of evil darkness. The only light…the only hope…is to look up to the Son.
