Yesterday, 🇩🇰 on behalf of the 41 #OSCE participating States, who on 22 March invoked the #ViennaMechanism due to concerns over Russia's treatment of political prisoners, reminded #Russia of its obligations! 27 days - and still no response from the Russian Federation.

3. The Democracy Defender Award was established by 🇨🇦🇩🇰🇲🇪🇳🇱🇸🇪🇨🇿🇬🇧🇺🇸 in 2016 and honors a person or group for exceptional contributions to the promotion of democracy and the defense of human rights in the spirit of the Helsinki Final Act and other OSCE principles and commitments.

The #ViennaMechanism is a tool to follow up OSCE commitments on #HumanRights & to promote accountability by posing questions to States on implementation. We demand a response from 🇷🇺regarding these serious concerns & remain committed to following up on these issues.
