📢 In today’s #HRC60 dialogue with SR on #IndigenousPeoples, Denmark together with Greenland, on behalf of #NB8 Nordic-Baltic States, reiterated our concern about the conflation of “Indigenous Peoples” & “local communities”, which risks blurring the rights of #IndigenousPeoples

This afternoon, the UN Human Rights Council discussed the report of #UNSG António Guterres on #reprisals against persons & groups engaging with the 🇺🇳 🇩🇰 expressed concern about reprisals against #HRDs & once again called for the release of Mr Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja without further delay.

The work of ICRC is indispensable in crises worldwide. Important that nations like Denmark take part in supporting these efforts🤝

📢 Elections to the UN Committee against Torture (CAT) Tomorrow, 5⃣ experts will be elected as members of the Committee, which monitors #UNCAT implementation. The session will be chaired by 🇧🇸 The Bahamas with 🇩🇰 Denmark as vice-chair, both CTI Core States. Results to follow!

Today at #HRC60🇱🇻on behalf of #NB8 expressed strong support for establishment of comprehensive, rights-based and people-centered national reconciliation and transitional justice process in Libya, alongside a sustainable political settlement with engagement of all 🇱🇾 stakeholders.

It’s time to vote 🙋 After weeks of negotiations, UN Human Rights Council will start voting & adoption of 37 resolutions & decisions, including on key 🇩🇰 priorities such as #IndigenousPeoples & #Gender.
