Hobart’s recent Australian Antarctic Festival highlighted Tasmania’s role as a gateway to the Antarctic & Southern Ocean.

As a sign of growing collaboration b/n the Antarctic Gateway states (), some 10,000 Adélie penguin shapes were painted by students from 🇦🇺 & other gateways cities -Punta Arenas, Ushuaia, Cape Town & Christchurch- for Hobart's Australian Antarctic Festival.

Yaizu’s Yurikamome Children’s Choir visited for a concert with local students & musicians, supported by the Australia-Japan Foundation. AJF programs & partnerships expand people-to-people & institutional links. Yaizu & Hobart have been sister cities since 1977. 📷 City of Hobart
