What ever happened to taking care of your patients physiology ? If I’m in shock, please keep all my organs perfused. If kidneys make urine, then I’m good. But if I have acute tubular injury, then UOP doesn’t help anymore. If you need NIRS to know Im perfusing well please use it

Kanekal Suresh Gautham I understand that NIRS elicits a strong response (both for and against) in many Neonatologists - but I really don't understand why. It is information, similar to what other vital signs (respiratory rate, HR, etc) provide. Have those been shown to improve or change outcomes?
