Hanover lies in the valley of the Leine River, and Baden-Baden is crossed by the Oos. This week, though, both cities will be united by the sound of a different river: the Vltava. We’re bringing it to our neighbors with Smetana’s Má vlast. Can’t wait to hit the road!

At the premiere of Mahler’s Eighth Symphony in 1910, the Munich Exhibition Hall had to squeeze in 1,029 performers. How many do you think will take the stage at the Municipal House for the closing concert of the Prague Spring Festival, where we’ll perform this monumental work?

This feels like a truly joyful way to close the season. 💙 Janáček and Bizet had us dancing, Ravel hypnotized us with Boléro… 🎶 A big thank you to Dalia Stasevska for conducting this vibrant Open Air concert that brought us to the end of our 129th season.

“Music of indescribable beauty and indescribable tenderness,” says Semyon Bychkov about Mahler. 💙 As the composer was born exactly 165 years ago today, we’re celebrating with a short excerpt from his Fifth Symphony. 🎼
