I have serious #HumanRights concerns about United Kingdom’s #RwandaBill . Its adoption by the UK Parliament raises major issues about the rights of #asylum seekers and the #RuleOfLaw .

🇬🇧🤝🇪🇺 So proud that the
European Commission has listened to the recommendations listed in our EESC External Relations report on EU-UK Youth Engagement.
Because of this, the door to re-negotiating on Erasmus+ is now more open than ever before.
📣Following recent media coverage of European Economic and Social Committee recommendations on EU-UK Youth Engagement, the EC proposes to open negotiations to facilitate youth mobility between the 🇪🇺 &🇬🇧. In its role as a champion of youth, the EESC is very proud to play its part in this important development
Championing youth is a cornerstone of our priorities.
Given the post-Brexit negative impact on young people's mobility, we came forward with a proposal, under EU #YouthTest initiative, to the EU institutions to consider a possible reciprocal youth mobility scheme with the UK.⬇️

This was one of the hardest speeches I've ever had to make.
It's time we implement the contents of this European Economic and Social Committee opinion report and work to bring back Erasmus+ and the cross-channel youth sector opportunities that organisations like British Youth Council so depended on.
📣🔛Distinguished 🇪🇺 and 🇬🇧 speakers highlight the importance of youth involvement and express wide support to the European Economic and Social Committee opinion on EU-UK Youth Engagement, including mobility, education, touring artists, farmers, entrepreneurs and other issues.

The European Economic and Social Committee discusses its Opinion on EU-UK Youth Engagement.
The research conducted shows that young people in the UK want more engagement & mobility within the EU, and so want EU youth!
Young people say it clearly: we want the UK to rejoin the Erasmus+ programme! 🇪🇺🇬🇧
As Vice-chair of APPG on Youth Affairs I've been working with NUS UK to host a meeting on 6 June which will discuss future steps for coordination of youth sector following demise of British Youth Council. All former members will be invited but if you want to be involved contact [email protected]
Amids lots of challenges for youth in the Council of Europe member states, shrinking civic spaces is something that can be tackled. Support the international team of the BYC and gratitude to Maurizio Cuttin UKYA 🇬🇧🇺🇦 that he keeps fighting for the organisation💪
