Environmental taxes increased to their highest level yet, raising £52.5bn in the UK in 2023, up 4.9% from £50.1bn in 2022, reports the ONS. On average, environmental taxes increased from £575 for each UK household in 2020 to £623 in 2021. Renewable energy taxes are signficant.
